On the Midnight Train

The ominous air fills the gaps in between my breathe
while the once absent thoughts make their way back
I can see them coming now…
Standing firm on the platform's edge
Every thought forming one after the other
Linking onto each other in a fancy chain
The hand strikes twelve
Welcome aboard!
I’m now on the midnight train
This is an endless ride
Through the ominous and curious pits of my mind
Be careful here, you can lose track of time…
What is time?
They say it’s not linear
Unlike this train of thought passing through my mind
I’ve had dreams about it
during the many countless nights
Does it not exist?
A made up concept of the human kind?
An illusion that keeps us in delusion
from seeing that the past, present, and future coincide
‘Cause I remember having the thoughts
That I have now of when my future self
Was talking to me when I was a child
It’s all connected somehow…
I know my future self is watching me now
through her past memories
as I write this out
I wonder what else she is thinking about…
But, is the future absolute?
Or is it changing all the time?
Time…that made up concept of the human kind…
Is there really free will?
Or is it predetermined fate of the divine?
An illusion that keeps us in delusion
from seeing that our decision making and action taking
truly aren’t ours how we think they are
Are we living in a simulation?
Could this all be an elaborate matrix?
What if we’re part of a highly advanced program
we just can’t exit?
Exit?…No…I’m on this endless ride…
What about death, is that an exit?
Or is it the beginning of something we cannot witness
with our own eyes?
Such an ominous thought concept in mind
Sometimes, I love the dark tunnels on this midnight train ride
‘Cause if death releases the soul
then where does the spirit of me go?
They say there’s an afterlife where loved ones go when they die
But, is that the end of it?
Or do we come back and do this over and over thousands of times
Once again time! That made up concept of the human kind!
So, who am I really?
The soul of the divine or the spirit of me?
Maybe I’m both…maybe it’s a duality
Just like the positive needs the negative energy
Energy…I’m on this endless ride
Energy cannot be created or destroyed
Only converted from one form into another
So then death is not the end
but a transformation into something better
Transcending through plains and quantum realms
Different dimensions, this midnight train ride getting wild as hell!
Hell…Heaven and hell?…
There is no heaven or hell
Another made up concept of the human kind
to keep the people in check from getting out of line
To control the masses by manipulating the minds
Make us behave like they want us to and not unleash the rage we hide
So it’s work, work, work! Pay, pay, pay!
Work! Work! Work! Pray! Pray! Pray!
All the ominous thoughts we have away
Of bringing this system down!…Down! Down! Down!
Like a Jenga tower to the ground! Ground! Ground!
Break away the foundation! Take all of the power!
I know we all think it… ‘cause I think about it every other hour…
If thoughts are energy
then it just gets transferred from one human to another
Such an ominous thought concept in mind
Sometimes, I love the dark tunnels on this midnight train ride
That’s where all of the forbidden thoughts like to hide
‘Cause it’s a quiet place and they say be careful of the quiet types
Does that make me unhinged? Maybe a little wrong?
Ah! But these thoughts are akin to a fleeting song
‘cause this midnight train keeps on moving right along
But, they say our thoughts are not our own
So, just as quick as they come, is as quick as they go
But, if we are not our own thoughts
then where is the point of origin that this madness starts?
Is it God? The Devil?
Yet, if everything is a duality harboring positive and negativity
just like human beings
created in the creation of the creator in all its entirety
then why is God and the Devil considered two different entities?
When I am both…yin and yang
Like heads and tails of a metal coin
where two sides meet to become one and join
Where I pick and choose which form I take on
So, if God created everything…
then God knew evil before evil knew what is was
What if God is not good nor evil, but is the essence of creation?
Which is a power we all possess
Are we God?
Or are we fragments of God and part of some massive plan?
What if there is no plan or such thing as purpose?
Just another made up concept of the human kind
To give ourselves meaning and comfort since we’re here a short time
Once again time! That made up concept of the human kind!
‘Cause we can’t fathom the thought that our existence
doesn’t have a deeper meaning so we try to make sense of it
instead of living and being without all the extra complexities
Convincing ourselves our species is superior than all of the rest
Maybe we are God…
‘Cause that does sound like a God complex
But, so many life forms have come and gone from this Earth
And nature always finds a way to eradicate, cleanse, and rebirth
So we might as well make peace…and embrace our turn
Such an ominous thought concept in mind
